American Freedom Museum
Bullard, Texas

This well-funded and professionally curated 15,000 square foot museum was created to document our nation's strong stand for freedom from it's founding in the 1770's through today.

More than 650 rare historical artifacts ranging from the American Revolution through the fight against terrorism are displayed.

The artifacts are seen in two galleries. The Hall of Presidents contains documents with the signatures of every President, as well as personal artifacts.

The larger Hall of Freedom documents every conflict where Americans have fought to preserve freedom.

LUNCH at Potpourri House

A long-time Tyler favorite, Potpourri House is a destination lunch spot! It's uniquely a restaurant wrapped in a boutique! From kitchenware to jewelry to clothing, you'll want to rush through dessert to have time to shop! Don't worry guys, they have a section of manly-man stuff, too.

Goodman-LeGrand Mansion

Built in 1859, it originally was one-story with four rooms. The original owner died in the Civil War in 1861. In 1866 second owner sold the house Dr. Samuel Goodman.

Just one year later Dr. Samuel Goodman sold the house to his son, Dr. William Goodman and his new bride, Mary Priscilla Gaston. The Goodman family lived in the home until 1939. Everything in the home is original from the Goodman family.

During our tour, you will learn the fascinating history of the beautiful home, it's occupants, the strong connection to a founder of Dallas, and why it is now a Tyler City Park.

NOTE: There is no elevator to the second floor, but there is plenty to see on the first floor..

Bonus: Collin Street Bakery

The original world famous DeLuxe Texas Fruitcake began in Corsicana is 1896 and boasts a world-wide following thanks to fans such as Enrico Caruso, Will Rogers, and John Ringling. A brief stop here before returning home will allow you to sample the goods yourself.
